The beginning of October will mark the return of what can only be described as a modern cult-classic title in the shape of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for the Playstation 3 - the tweaked and polished follow-on title to Ninja Gaiden 2 on the XBox 360.

The game action-hero fans have been waiting for has arrived in the form of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and despite Wolverine himself being far from a hero, this title reaches heights few other movie-to-videogame reproductions can boast.

Silent Hill Homecoming

I know The Silent Hill series is meant to be in the survival horror category but do the game developers really have to make it as intense as it is, I’m just saying I want to leave this game with out having to look over my shoulder to make sure there isn’t some creepy but oddly sexy nurse with no face making a noise I’ve never herd before, coming up behind me to slit my throat.

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix

Remember how exciting it was when Puzzle Quest first came out for the Nintendo DS? Imagine! Here’s a game with the addictiveness of Bejeweled, with the depth and adventure of an RPG. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that blend. And PQ: Challenge of the Warlords was definitely one of the most memorable DS games for 2007. It’s just been long enough to do everything in that game, twice over (shame there was only two save files), so it’s just the right time for a sequel.

Dragon Age is an eagerly awaited fantasy role playing game from Canadian developers BioWare, famed most recently for last years hugely successful Mass Effect. However with Dragon Age Origins they head back to their roots, back to the days of Neverwinter Nights and Baldurs Gate 2.

Ghostbusters: The Game

This isn’t the first Ghostbusters title, but is obviously the best by quite some distance due to the huge leap in technology since the 90s when we last saw Ghostbusters games on any console or computer system. Prepare to be spooked once again!
