¡Fifa 09!

September 12, 2008

The latest installment in the FIFA futbol series (soccer, for you Americans) is finally here. Boasting a whole new variety of playing modes, this game is looking for success. The set release date for this game is going to be October 14, 2008 in North America and September 26, 2008 in Europe. The game is also going to be release on all major gaming consoles including the 360, Wii, PS3, and PS2. Some editions will have extra game play features as well.

What will really make this game one not to forget is that it has undergone tremendous changes from last year. David Rutter has stated that there have been over 250 changes in gameplay since FIFA 08. While some improvements are subtle, others are more noticeable. For example, the collision system has been completely adjusted. Players will now see collisions based on weight, speed, and power, among other things. Goal keepers have been improved as well, so players will now see more intelligent AI while playing the game. Weather can now be switched on and off, and a lot more customizations can be made as far as play conditions. The game also pays more attention to off-screen action as well. Substituted platers can now be seen practicing off-field.

There is also going to be a new major addition not present in any previous FIFA game: the addition of the Adidas Live Season game mode. This allows for superior player updates and form. The system is set to reflect the real life ups and downs that players have. Players also have the option to join various leagues in this mode.

The soundtrack has also been said to contain an expansive variety of music. It has been confirmed that there will be over forty songs features from other twenty countries, which is to reflect the ethnical diversity of the sport.
