Who You Gonna Call?
January 16, 2009
Bill Murray doesn’t do sequels, this is the reason Ghostbusters 3 was never made. I guess he was drunk when he made Ghostbusters 2 and just doesn’t remember being in it. Anyway Dan Ackroyd had it in mind for GB3 that after the events of 2 there would be no earthly supernatural events worthy of their abilities, his solution Ghostbusters 3: Ghostbusters in Hell. unfortunatly Bill Murray won’t do it and so to satisfy the fans Ackroyd and Harold Ramis the original writing team of the Ghostbusters movies have teamed up write a plot for a new video game.
The Game still doesn’t officially have a name yet, and is still being referred to by it’s development name Ghostbusters: The Video Game, whether this name will carry through to the time of release is unknown. The developers have said that the game will be made available for these consoles Nintendo DS, PS2, PS3, Wii and the X-Box 360. There will also be a Windows PC version.
Official information on the game is scant but what is known so far is that, the game is based on the Ghostbusters Movie Franchise, the time frame for the game is two years after the events of the last film Ghostbusters 2, thanksgiving 1991. the player will control a new recruit hired by The Ghostbusters to test out new equipment they have been developing. Your first chance to try out the new equipment is when the city is about to unveil a Gozer exhibit, paranormal activity around the exhibit begins to rise and the team is called in to investigate.
Familiar faces from the films will also make many appearances in the films including Slimer, Staypuff Marshmallow Man, Gozer and Vigo. All the original Ghostbusters actors voiced their own characters in the game. Look for a release date of late 2009
