Bulb Treat
It will make it learn the trick quicker:
When the light bulb appears, Use the stylus to drag the light bulb over your Nintendogs mouth. Your Nintendog will eat it.
Easy Errata
Go to contests and place in the top 3.
Visit friends in bark mode
Let your Nintendog play with other dogs you have
Give your Nintendog a bath and brush it
Play music your Nintendog likes
Feed your your Nintendog the light bulb that appears over your dogs head. It will make it learn the trick quicker. If you feed a bone to dog it gives trainer points!
Throw a toy. No matter if the dog catches it or not rub him/her on the head. Any time you pet your dog and sparkles appear you get trainer points. Do the same when the dog does a trick correctly.
Whistle and call its name, instead of pressing the round button to call your dog.
walks give you 100 trainer pts. On the end of your walk go to a park. Put on new collar. It will save any items found. You can go on a walk again!
Before you go into a contest save. Then if you do poorly in a contest you can shut it off BEFORE the contest is over and you can restart it.
Buy treats from the discount store and give them to the dog when it's good, does a trick, does good in a contest, finds good presents for you, and when it doesn't get into fights with other dogs.

Basic Tricks 101
| Sneeze | While your dog is sitting tap its nose. It will sneeze. This can be taught as a trick too. | | Backflip | Tell your dog to sit. Now, tell your dog to jump. it should do a backflip. This can be taught. | | Speak | Have a keyboard ( 5000 points) and tap the little trumpet symbol. Now tap the camera symbol until it reaches the right dog. hold the lowest note (the left side) your dog should bark (keep holding) then the lightbulb will appear. let go of the note and teach the trick. | | Wave | Tell your dog to sit. now grab his ear and move it around the dog should bring it's paw up then tap the lightbulb and teach it the trick. | | Stand | tell your dog to beg. now take his chest and slide up. he should stand up. tap the bulb and teach the trick. |
Walking Repeatable
Set your dog's collar to auto-save your game before making the last stop in the park. Turn off the DS and restart. This will enable you to save any items you found during the walk and restarts your walk at the same time, allowing you to farm the park for items.
Easy Trainer Points
Head to the screen where you wash your mutt. Instead of actually brushing the mutt, leave the brush over your mutt in the center of your dog. For each real-time minute the brush remains there, you should gain one Trainer Point.
Daily Contest Limit
This trick requires you to first save your game prior to begining a contest. While attempting the trial, you may opt to turn off the Nintendo DS and reload your save gamebefore the contest is over to retry without docking your daily contest limit.
Boxer
Unlock the Boxer by accumulating 20,000 Trainer Points.
German Shepherd
Unlock the German Shepard by accumulating 30,000 Trainer points.
Natural Bag of Dog Food
You can find it at the Pet Supply Store after gaining 10,000 Owner Points
Jump Rope
You can find it at Discount Shop after gaining 300 Owner Points
Pull Rope
You can find it at the Discount Shop after gaining 300 Owner Points.
Balloon
You can find it at the Discount Shop after gaining 300 Owner Points.
Gift Locator
Look at the top screen to find out if garbage or a present is approaching during your walks. There should be the small dog symbol on the path that you drew. If that dog symbol stops and your dog is still walking, this indicates that either garbage or a present is coming up. Tug your dog to a stop if a present and your dog will notice it. It will pick it up and bring it over to you. It is easier to do this when your dog is running.
Free Gifts and Toys
While you can purchase new toys for your pup to play with, you can actually get some goodies for free if you know where to look. When you take your Nintendog on a walk, outline a path that goes by the blue "?" boxes marked on the map. Your puppy is likely to run off screen at those points and come back with a present for you!
Your puppy will also randomly run to get presents for you if you leave the game on the "Home" screen for long. If left unattended, your Nintendog will leave the apartment and stay off screen. Simply tap on the center button (the circular one) to whistle and call back your pup who should be carrying a new present.
(US version): Yorkie
Get 2000 Trainer Points to unlock.
Unlock Dalmatian (US Version)
You must find a fireman hat during a walk to unlock the dalmation breed. Dalmation pups will then be available for purchase.

Data Delete
To delete your data from the cartridge:
After Nintendogs loads up there will be a screen where the Nintendo logo is on top and copyright information on the bottom, press and hold:
L + R + A + B + X + Y simultaneously to delete your data from the cartridge.
